What to Expect at Peace...

Are you looking for:

  • a church that is willing to answer your questions?
  • someplace that’s not too traditional, but not so loud you can’t hear your own thoughts?

God is at work in our world, and Peace is excited to be a part of the action! Here at Peace, expect to encounter a community of people who have experienced God’s love, and are ready to share that love with others- locally, regionally, and around the world. You may expect to find volunteers staffing a weekly homeless shelter; kids in Vacation Bible School, youth assembling for a mission trip to West Virginia, numerous women’s Bible studies, men’s Bible breakfasts on several weekdays, workers assembling to help repair storm-damaged property in the South, or others traveling to Honduras to bring medical and spiritual aid.

On Sunday morning, you will find these same people assembling with a sense of expectancy, and encountering the Living God in worship, music, and the Word. Peace embraces contemporary music and language, and brings those alongside the great traditional music and liturgy of the church. People of all ages are present and welcome. Some dress up and some don’t. But all are an enthusiastic part of God’s kingdom.

Come and join us!

What We Believe

Untitled Document

The Bible - is God’s Word for all people.  It is inspired by God, without error, and relevant to our daily lives. (2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Isaiah 40:8)

The Trinity - Three in One. God is eternal, and exists as one God in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Matt. 28:19; Luke 1:35, 3:22; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

God, the Father - is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, worthy of our trust, and holy.  In Him we live, move, and exist.  God is good, loving, compassionate, faithful, and keeps His promises.  (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 90:2, 1 Corinthians 1:9)

Jesus, the Son - is completely human and completely God.  He lived a sinless life, died on our behalf, defeated death in His resurrection, and will come again.  (Romans 6:23, 1 John 4:10, John 14:6)

The Holy Spirit - works within people to draw them to faith in Jesus, and to empower them to live God-pleasing lives.  (1 Corinthians 12:3, Titus 3:4-7, John 14:26, John 16:13)

Man - is made in the image of God, and was created to live in relationship with God.  Man’s sinful disobedience broke that relationship, and it cannot be mended by human effort.  Every human is uniquely created and of infinite worth. (Genesis 1:27, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23)

Salvation - is a free gift of God offered to all who place their faith in Jesus, whose death and resurrection are the only source of forgiveness and life. (John 3:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Church - is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ.  The church is committed to obedience, worship, prayer, and to take the good news to the world. (Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:11-16)

Baptism - is a means of grace through which God grants spiritual rebirth. (John 3:3-5, Mark 16:16)

Communion - The Lord’s Supper- is a means of grace and a meal of remembrance that strengthens our faith as we receive Christ’s body and blood in, with, and under the bread  and wine.  (1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25)
